Chief Technology Officer: Sara McCarty, Ed.D.

Dr. Sara McCarty has served in Tom Bean ISD since 2016 and brings more than 25 years of experience in public education. Throughout her career, she has held a variety of leadership roles, including District Curriculum Director, District Testing Coordinator, middle school principal, and high school principal.

Most recently, Dr. McCarty served as the principal of Tom Bean High School for eight and a half years before transitioning into the role of Chief Technology Officer in January 2025. In this position, she oversees the district’s technology systems and initiatives to support teaching, learning, and operational efficiency.

Dr. McCarty earned her bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, her master’s degree from Texas A&M University–Commerce, and her doctorate degree from East Texas A&M University.

Technology Consultant: Chris Oney
Chris Oney began consulting with Tom Bean in 2022 after more than 20 years in corporate information technology, most notably with JPMorgan Chase. His extensive IT background includes roles as a systems administrator, software engineer, database administrator, help desk specialist, and project manager.

Mr. Oney brings over a decade of experience as a technology consultant and currently consults part-time, with a focus on supporting non-profit organizations and small businesses. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Oklahoma State University.
